Hangar Interurban Kara gallery Cankaya Ankara & other spaces of the globe.

Art and the artists have a special and an important role in the formation of an urban culture, in the integration of the urbanite with he city itself, and also how it is accepted and loved as a habitat, hence incerasing a city's reputation around the world as a location worth merit.

Architectural works symbolize a city: the spirit of a city is born out of the urban spaces reproduced with a different aestetical taste through novels, poems, photographs, movies and of course, through unmatched creativity of he art of painting. With the contributuion of art and the artists, we perceive the city as a living entity, exsisting beyond its physical body.

Hangar Intercity, one of the projects to be exhibited from May 18 to 31, 2012, by Hanger Art Association has a special value from this perspective.

In this very important exhibition with 45 artists from all around Turkey and he world, we observe living slices from different cities with a new light filered through the prisms of the artists' creativity.

This exhibition reminds us how freedom of art and the artists is essential and indispensible. Hosting such an event is gratifying responsibility. I wish all the art afficianados of Ankara to have a great time in this exhibit of living slices of various citiies around the globe, and enjoy the free perspective of art itself.
